birch bark basket
We will use bark from the paper birch tree to create small baskets using the diagonal plaiting weaving technique. While we will not harvest materials during class, students will learn to process the bark from larger sheets. We will also discuss ethical and sustainable harvesting considerations and techniques. All weaving supplies and tools will be provided for use.
Date: Saturday, September 7, 2024, 10am-4pm
(some students may finish earlier or later, which is fine)
Cost: $110
Ages: Adults and teens 14 and up.
Teens wishing to attend should be focused and self-motivated.
Location: private land in Ripton. Class is outdoors.

birch bark ornaments
In this half day class, we will craft festive natural ornaments from paper birch bark. Students will learn how to create stars and birds. These make wonderful hand made gifts. Bark and all necessary supplies will be provided.
Cost: $80
Ages: Adults and teens 14+
Hours: 9am-1pm
There will be two classes offered in late November or early December. You will be able to select which class you'd like to attend on your registration form. Exact dates and locations TBD, check back soon!
